What color do I paint walls and curtains

Marion Nesbitt on May 12, 2015I'd put the blue/green on the walls. The colour can also be used in accessories along with a punch colour like a tangerine.Helpful Reply

Liz Feeser-Regan on May 12, 2015The wall color I love and goes with anything and everything is antique white, and it looks so nice with wood or bright white trim color. Also it will never go out of style, the problem I have with paint is it starts to date itself in a few years, you will not have this problem with antique white.Helpful Reply

Jordan Le Bouton on May 12, 2015I have brown walls and brown carpet. Not my choice but will do for now. I have a light blue and white checked old fashioned couch and I put white gauzy curtains up with brown room darkening ones over that that stay open unless we are watching a movie. I have a cream, once again old fashioned arm chair. I like it. I want to get the carpet out because the floors are wood and nice. Paint the walls, well, I may be on here asking for help too. I look at magazines, pininterest, any place for ideas. Good luck.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on May 12, 2015I would get lots of paint cards in colors of grey and taupe and tape them to each wall of the room. I would think about replacing the curtains- beige is boring. To give pops of color in pillows in accessories you will need the curtains to have one of the colors in the pillows and throws you use. Make sure you have a small bit of color from the adjoining rooms so the space flows. If the room is dark, then go with medium colors on the wall which will give a rich warm yet cozy feeling and look at a beautiful wrought iron rod with some beautiful sheers. if the room is bright and filled with sun, then you could go deeper to bring in some cozy yet sophisticated flair. Then I would go with a heavier curtain (on a beautiful rod). have fun but bringng home lots of paint colors is the only way!Helpful Reply

Janice Kane on May 18, 2015I have a similar colour of wals, couch and carpet as yourself... when pintresting I came across the idea to update my lounge by changing a few colours... pleased to say that I am delighted with the result and it was very economical....However, I did not do any painting at all. I picked up some duck egg blue curtains, a rug that has duck egg blue, cream and taupe in it and cushions that co-ordinate the colours together. I chose some ornaments and vases in colours which complement the scheme and updated my lamp shades with pearl buttons and some zentangling with a sharpie pen...now my beige boring lounge is bright and fresh looking with not too much work or expense! I have now decided to do this with my other rooms and have picked the colours and will collect accessories as and when. Good luck and I hope your efforts turn out well!Helpful Reply

B. Enne on Jun 29, 20151- Pick a patterned rug or pillow you like with your carpet and couch colours in them. Even if you don't like the pattern, designers chose to put the colours together, and they should coordinate or complement each other. 2-If you go to a mixed brand paint or big box store, you could pick chips that have your couch colour and coordinating/ complementary colours. Bring them home and pick your favourite colours based on light in your room. They are often called palettes, families or collections: ex: http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6375/#/6376/?s=coordinatingColors&p=PS0 http://www.behr.com/consumer_ca/colors/paint#paint https://fr.pinterest.com/cschendt/color-coordination-ideas/Helpful Reply
