What type paint should I use on my garage floor?

D & K on May 15, 2015If you want something that will really last, you'll need to use the two part garage floor paints. Both Home Depot and Lowes offer them and I assmue the regular paint stores do as well. They are an epoxy based paint and once cured you can park your car on it without any problems. It's also easy to clean and will seal the concrete preventing the oil and grease from further staining, however, you're going to have to do very good job cleaning the existing floor if it is stained with oil and grease so the new coating will adhere properly. Both Lowes and Home Depot in Marble Falls carry it on their shelves along with cleaners. It, the paint is available several colors and they also have the colored chips you can throw down in the wet paint to give it some dimension. Here's a link to the product offered by Home Depot. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-EpoxyShield-2-gal-Gray-2-Part-High-Gloss-Epoxy-Garage-Floor-Coating-Kit-251870/100671422Helpful Reply

Danielle on May 15, 2015Take a look at expoxymaster.com. Huge array of options and very reasonable. My DH and I are even considering using it in our kitchen. We spoke to the company and they assured us it would even work fine on well sealed wood sub flooring.Helpful Reply

Kim Hatem on May 15, 2015I saw a product at my local home improvement center. It was for a paint that is good for decks and concrete. It was a 5 gallon container and I asked the paint guy if there were any complaints on it, that he had heard of.. He said no..It sells well..Helpful Reply

Suzanne on May 15, 2015There is a new product (well, new to me!) that involves painting and then sprinkling glittery pieces of colored chips on it while its wet. My neighbor did it on his new garage floor and its beautiful! Looks like tile!! I think he got it a Home Depot!Helpful Reply
