Gail Salminen on May 28, 2015@kloehr I have no experience with marine varnish so what ever I suggest you should check it out with a marine paint expert. When using regular stains you can adjust the colour by combining stains. On the DIY show, rehab addict, she usually combines stains to achieve the colour she wants - just have to make sure you track the amounts of each stain. You could try this on (not sure what kind of furniture you are asking about) the inside of a drawer or the underside of the piece - Wishing you luck - update us on your decision and success. Thanks @ for drawing this to my attention, just hope I helped.Helpful Reply
