Exbury azalea attack by inch worms

Marie
by Marie
My beautiful exbury azalea leaves are eaten each year by the inch worms. I try to remove them when I see them. This year before I saw them they had eaten the leaves and only left the stems. I am afraid if this continues I will lose the plant entirely. I haven't had any flowers as a result. Only want to use natural products not chemicals on them. Any suggestions?

Hi, @Marie ! You might want to try Neem Oil which is a natural horticultural spray. It won't work instantly like an insecticide, but should do the trick! Here's info: http://www.discoverneem.com/neem-oil-insecticide.html

Try Cayane Pepper in water. It does not hurt animals or plats but will remove bugs. Spray some on,, BOTH Top and Bottom of all foliage. Also, tobacco soaked in water for a tea and stray that on ether/or. Hope it helps...good luck!

Good suggestions above. I mix crushed garlic cloves, red pepper flakes and onion. Let it sit in a jar for two days, strain and spray. Works great for aphids, worms, etc.

What Barb said, Neem oil, it has never failed me, it is not a chemical, it's derived from the neem tree. You mix it with water and spray.
