DIY No Sew Blue Sky Curtains

This is an easy & fun project that has endless possibilities. When decorating this fun free spirited craft room we needed a window treatment that was light and airy, let natural light flow in and gave way to daydreaming. What could be better than a fade to blue sky scene? I started off with inexpensive gauze fabric from Hobby Lobby. I used navy blue Rit dye, this is where you could dream big in any color. Gather a bucket with hot water, some scissors and you are all set.
Gently put the length of fabric you would like colored into the hot dye bath, per instructions on packaging. (Note: this was my first attempt at fabric dying and I left the fabric in the dye to long. It turned more purple than blue. I thought longer = darker, but not so. Follow their directions. I re-dyed the fabric after it dried and it came out perfect. If you mess up you don't necessarily need to buy new fabric.) I dipped in the desired length and gradually pulled it out in time intervals to help with a fade effect.

Wash and ring out fabric, let dry completely. Next snip fabric every 1 inch or so. This does not have to be an exact measurement. The snip is your starting point. Just rip the length of the fabric from there.
And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water. So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky". Genesis 1:6-8
