How to make this chair look like aged wood?

I am trying to make this chair look like aged wood. Any ideas what color to start out with to cover the bright blue?

Coat it with medium gray-brown and dry brush with light gray.

Thank you for the video,@Judy Capone Mantell . It currently says "error" and won't play the video, but I will try it again in a bit. I will be sure to post before and after photos... I'm hoping to match the other one we have that wasn't painted.

@Darla I started off with a light gray about an hour ago. Wish I would have waited to see your comment! I was going back and forth with which color to start with. :(

You can always recoat it with the darker color! That might be easier than going back and forth with the color.

Google:" how to paint/distress/antique furniture" or "beach bum livin" and you should find it!

Hi Jacqueline! I typically start with a lighter color than what is on the chair- in this instance a lighter blue. Dry brush that on, then add a lighter gray, maybe even a soft white. Then sand down all the edges to distress it. Then poly to seal it. Good Luck!

Leave it outside..it gets that way on its own soon enough!

I start with a medium gray chalk paint then use a java color brown as second coat ( also chalk paint). Then sand where wear and tear would naturally occur. Top odd with a brown wax.
