How do I renew marble floor to a shine, that has been etched?

The marble floor is a cream beige, and a handyman was renewing the grout, but he used a cement adhesive in the grout. After one day, I washed the floor several times, to try to remove this grout, but some still remains on the floor, even though our handyman tried to scrub it off with water and a strong nylon scrubby.

Dupont has a product called "grout haze remover" made just for that. I have a similar problem and bought some at Lowes, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet -- so I can't vouch for how it works!

I think if you use an oily product on the adhesive it might just take it off. You might also try mineral spirits. Please remember these are suggestions that I have not tried on grout with adhesive added. I do know that over time on regular grout with washing it will come off. I am so sorry you are experiencing this trouble. If you choose to use an oily substance I would leave it on the floor for a few min. before you try to get it off. Also I am not familiar with marble. I don't know if the oil will stain the marble. Having said this I would test an area that will be hidden from view.

You could also use muratic acid be careful not to get it on the flooring. I used acid to clean it out of my shower a bunch was left in there.
