Robin Miller Cresci on May 23, 2015Peruvian Lily or Alstroemeria. They are grown in bulb form, the bulbs being clear/whiteish. They will bloom more in a season if you PULL the flowers out when done blooming. I can get 3-4 bloom cycles in one season if I do this. They love the soil to be loose, like sandy. They are bulbs so they do multiply season to season. They will spread and take over an area. But if you keep pulling them out, or dig up the bulbs, you can keep them in check. They do make lovely bouquets, and last a long time in a vase. Be sure to PULL the flower stems out of the ground and trim them. This will insure re-bloom in your garden. You have a really pretty variety! Enjoy! Oh, and gophers will eat them, but I don't see that too often here in my yard.Helpful Reply

York Gardener on May 23, 2015These are NOT alstroemeria, I dissect these Peruvian Lilies weekly with student coming for field trips to our Garden. What you have is a variety of Cuphea. If you will look up their images on the Internet you could even find which variety.Helpful Reply
