Top for a rescued (dumpster dived) wrought iron table

I actually DUG this out of a dumpster! I'm looking for a top for it which is an actual galvanized tin (or a similar material) round tray with short sides with handles on each side. The top is 27 inches in diameter, but I could use one that is bigger. I saw a top like this in a post which was purchased at WalMart, but it was considerably smaller. Any ideas on where to find something like this or a suggestion for something like it? I will try eBay, or I may have to have it made. Any help would be appreciated!

hi,What about an oil drum lid or large metal party tray.just drill and add handles that look good with the iron base.

Would it support a glass top? They can be a little heavy depending on the thickness of the glass and I don't know how strong the legs on your table are

I have used plexi-glass before....works, but I prefer glass...go to a salvage type shop? Love your table... wood will do also! Love your table!

I love your table, surely you're not thinking of anything on top that would hide the design, then, it must be glass or plexiglass,. glass is a little tricky

Lovely little table. It looks like it folds up? If it does, adding a bigger table top over the existing one could be a problem for when you want to fold and store it. I think glass would be too heavy. I would just rust treat and paint this table and leave it as it is. It is so pretty I think you scored a good one with this little table for free.

You're right Carole and Helene, the top is too lovely to hide. It's strong enough to support glass so that's what I'll do
