Old House Bathroom Redo

As I said in our New Old Pantry post, our house is over 100 years old. We are fortunate that 2 small baths were added at some point but they were very dated. We decided to redo our bath. I wanted a walki in shower as the bathroom was very small. My husband is wonderful with executing my wild and crazy ideas. He is a saint. When he finally got the old rusty cast iron tub out we were looking right at the ground below the house.
We purchased (over a period of a year) a smaller vanity and more efficient toilet. The floor was plywood that I painted when we moved in. After many trips to Lowes, almost daily, and many hours of work it is almost done. All we need to add is molding and.baseboards. My husband always hating plumbing but he has done an excellent job.
We put in a 48" shower which left us with about 9-10 inches to the wall. The previous owner had covered a small window with the tub surround.
I decided that I wanted to go with black and white. He put bead board up and new vinyl plank flooring.
The little black cabinet is a cd cabinet I bought at the thrift store for $1.00. The cd holders were just plastic so I took those out, my husband cut small shelves out of mdf fiber board and I painted them black. I bought a small roll of black & white polka dot duck tape and covered the front edge of the shelves. I bought an extra set of shower curtain hooks and made a valance out of material that I used on the tray on top of the toilet. The shelf over the toilet was an $8.00 find and was green. I love spray paint so I sprayed it white.
Since I had the space between the shower wall and outside wall which was smaller than I thought it would be, I bought one of the carts that goes between a washer and dryer and put 2 black baskets on each shelf to hold all of my makeup, bath cleaners etc. We still have to put molding on the shower and outside wall.
Had this tray, Sprayed it white and covered the faded pink cardboard with black fabric with white polka dots.l
Also bought a black waste basket at Walmart for $2.73 and a pkg of white round stickers and stuck them on to continue the polka dot idea.
