Raspberries and blackberries

I have California red raspberries, and blackberries growing out of control along side of house. I dug in 2 ft. deep, tearing out the roots. I can't get it all. Since it rained, its all coming back with a vengeance. How can I get rid of this?

just keep digging and remove every little last bit they are demons for rerooting and turning up in other areas,

These are wonderful to have if you have them planted in a area where they can spread and be out of the way. Birds and people love them to eat. Find a friend who has such a place and would love to have them, they can dig them out.

Yep. Digging and removing - keeping on them as they come up - is the only way to really get rid of them. It may take some time, but keep at it and you should see success.

Dig as much as you can, then apply weed and brush killer to the roots.

Weed and brush killer has to be applied to the leaves, not the roots. We have lots of wild black berries growing all over our 17 1/2 acre property. The only way I have found to get rid of them is to spray them with brush or total kill. You will never be able to remove all of the roots or the remaining seeds by digging. Just remember to apply the killer to the green vegetation, not the roots. I hope this helps you. Good luck!

I've read that white vinegar poured on plant roots will kill anything, good or bad. You might give it a try since vinegar is safe and cheap to use. Just be careful it doesn't get on something you want to keep.
