Recovering the Seat in an Old Chair

I am in the process of tranforming the decor in our living room. I recently painted the walls gray - the furniture needed updating by either painting or recovering the fabrics. I chose to recover the seat cushion to this chair.
The chair before. Years ago we had water damage in our home and this chair was affected. It had been restored and the seat recovered. This look worked well with the English Cottage decor, now the seat cover needs updating.
I knew the seat was sagging and needed reinforcement. What I discovered that the seat still retained its straw as batting - I worked hard to retain all original material.
The newly recovered seat. I love this fabric! I found it along with a number of other fabrics I selected for our living room transformation. I found it at a fabric warehouse during their bi-yearly $1.99/lb sale! Originally, I thought this would be perfect for accent pillows.
The new look. I also made an envelope style cover for the small pillow I keep on the chair - this fabric is also used on the ottoman I recovered.
The chair's new look
The newly recovered chair and the reupholstered ottoman - the living room transformation is taking shape!
