Painted Striped Entryway Bench

We needed a narrow bench for our narrow entryway. So my husband made a parsons-style bench, and I painted it with DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint.
Here's the bench after my hubby finished it. He modified some plans he found online (link to the original plan is in my blog post) to create a bench narrow enough for our entryway.
I started with a dark grey color over the whole bench (2 coats)
Then I taped off my stripes with wide and narrow tape.
But before I painted the stripe color, I painted a base cost of the original color to seal the tape edges, to help get crisp edges and no bleed for our stripes.

Christine Kalicky on Jun 04, 2015I think your bench is beautiful! I really love the colors you chose - very good taste. I'm going to have to try this now!
