Hi can anyone tell me if I can adjust the hinges to re-align my cabinet doors or do I need to install new hinges?
This is the type of hinge

You should be able to adjust the hinges, provided they aren't broken in any way. I they're broken, then best just to replace them in the correct position.

yes, you may have to relocate the screw holes because there is not a lot of room for adjustment on that type of hinge.

the hinges pictured often loosen up and keep the doors from closing properly. Take a close look and you will find three different areas to adjust. I guarantee that this is all you will need. If you can not figure it out easily, take one of the hinges to your local hardware/home store and talk to them. They will show you what to do. Good luck!

Thank you for asking this question, as my door hinges are needing adjusting too. I like your idea, Diane Blank. I wouldn't have thought of taking a hinge to the experts, but you hit the nail on the head!

The European hinges are the worst when it comes to adjusting! Totally counter-intuitive. It's like the screws work backwards! Not even kidding. Whenever I've done it, it's been trial and error, figuring out what happens when you turn one way or the other. Takes a while, but eventually I get it. Getting two doors to line up though can really take time. Obviously, people who are familiar with them can do it so much more quickly, so I agree, if you can talk to someone about it that should help. Or if you have a handyman it really shouldn't take him any time at all. Might be worth a small fee to have someone who knows what he's doing line them up quickly.

there should be at least 1 or more adjusting screws- inserting the screw will extend the hinge outwards while loosening will ontact it-luck
