How to make curtain or shade for a crescent shaped window

KylieS on May 27, 2015Could you not use UV tinting film? It would cut down on the sun, but still let natural light in.Helpful Reply

Darla on May 27, 2015You can get temporary paper blinds, the kind that are fan-folded, cut it to the width of your window, staple or tie in the center, and pull up the ends to make a crescent shape. Then trim to fit.Helpful Reply

Swan Road Designs on May 27, 2015Forget blinds, shades or curtains. You can get anti-glare, UV protective film to apply to those areas. I've used and recommended (I'm a retired decorator.) a brand that in our area is found at Lowe's. It's a company called Gila, pronounced "heela." There are varieties that greatly reduce glare and protect from UV damage and, after applying to the glass, are nearly undetectable. We have the film on the windows on several very sunny areas of our home. Not only do we not get the awful glare, the HVAC doesn't have to work as hard to keep the rooms comfortable. It's a win-win situation.Helpful Reply

Duv310660 on May 27, 2015Maybe hang a swagged valence that goes down enough to cover the top, with those fish-tail ends that would frame the blind down far enough to make both parts appear as a balanced whole. This kind of window dressing is very classic, just like the curved element on your window, and would blend well.Helpful Reply
