Side light comes in from drapes

I have looked into several fixes for the light that comes in from drapery next to the wall. Velcro tabs would leave glue that could come off in the dryer and make a mess. Do you have any suggestions?

It sounds like you have the incorrect curtain rod for what you want to accomplish. My guess is that yours is straight across the window and possibly with a finial at the end (or not). You want one that has a curved end (like an elbow) which will bring your drape around the corner to the wall.

Maybe longer curtain rod? I always have a longer rod so I can pull all of the curtain away from the window, and as long as your drapes are full enough and the rod is close in, I don't have an issue.

The velcor tabs work well. You can get the kind of velcro that is sewn in place so that you don't worry about coming off in the wash. Easy enough to hand stitch.
