Growing a vegetable garden in a small yard can be a bit of a challenge, but this does not have to be the case.
This summer, I am growing a whole vegetable garden on my back deck in large containers and it still leaves me room for two seating areas and lots of flower planters.
This summer, I am growing a whole vegetable garden on my back deck in large containers and it still leaves me room for two seating areas and lots of flower planters.
My deck is about 14 x 25 feet and the vegetable garden only takes up a small part of it.
I have so many veggies growing this year and all are so healthy looking. I love having them nearby to really keep an eye on them.
The pots sit on the edge of the deck and I can just walk around when I want to water and tend.
My watering set up is near by and the whole thing takes me no more than 10 minutes at night. See lots more photos and all my tips on the blog.

Eglehawk on May 27, 2015I have been doing this for years.a lot less weeding this way. I grow Vining plants vertically. The only draw back is containers dry out quicker, but this can be helped with mulch and containers can be made self watering. Love my garden.

Carol Speake - The Gardening Cook on Jun 02, 2015@Eglehawk yes I find that I have to water every day, but the amount of less time weeding is a trade off!
