Any suggestions on colour?

Linda Dorn on May 28, 2015Hi, I make over furniture and sell it on craigslist all the time.. When selling furniture you have to think of what color would go in most peoples home. I would paint this dresser white. If you have a night stand to go with it you could be more creative. I pick up furniture that dont match and pint them to match each other. Maybe you can find a side table and chair at goodwill. I attached a example of what I'm talking about. Much success.Helpful Reply

Linda Dorn on May 28, 2015I have dune very well when I stick to a collection as my customers usually buy the hole grouping. I shop at goodwill flea markets and some garage sales and craigslist has a free section. Note: Different goodwill's charge different. I pay around $5.00 to $10.00 for most items as I buy things people think are junk, but I know I can take off paint and tighten a leg. I have a limit I never go over $40.00 for anything and it has to be very nice. Try to be different, I stencil, decoupage , cover chairs seats and lamp shades in the same matching fabric. Example of before and after stenciled and decoupage. I paid $3.00 for the mermaid table and $2.00 for the girl table. I hope you love doing this as much as I do.Helpful Reply

I fugue it's just paint and I can start over and I have made some mistakes in the process LOL. I sold the girl table for $125. and the mermaid table for $195. Pauliegirl1 on May 28, 2015Also a self taught repurposer? HA!!.... I find that white, off white, light grays, and light beige/tan seem to work best for me when re-selling....also black, with red under tones. I do see a lot of "light" blues, such as ASCP, Duck Egg Blue, which is very pretty, but I personally have not had that much luck with blue!! Good Luck, and let us see what you decide!!Helpful Reply

I rescued it with the hopes of saving it from the land fill and someone will see the value in it rather than shopping at Walmart.
