No More Ugly Kitchen!
by

Our DIY project, a horrible kitchen converted into a warm and inviting kitchen.
My husband and I bought our first foreclosure house that was in really bad shape. We are "do-it-yourselfers" so we considered this to be a perfect project for us to tackle, and oh my...we really got a good dose of work! But in the long run it was very gratifying to see how it all turned out
We kept the existing cabinetry, but completely sanded down and painted them, installed new beadboard doors, replaced the countertops, sink, flooring and lighting. We added the island and the lightbox above and also the built-in china cabinet to the right, we installed a new stove, vent and dishwasher, but had to use our old refrigerator.
The sink, faucet and backsplash are my favorites. I installed the backsplash all by myself. Kinda proud, it was my first!
Enjoyed the project?

Have a question about this project?
Is this a before? Island is a weird shape, should’ve just done normal. Kitchen is dark....backsplash tile is outdated. Looks like you have a lot of work to do.
