We have a small refrigerator we put on our deck each year. We would like to cover it so that we can keep it out all summer. Any ideas?

We bought a trash bin cabinet that has a lid, and two doors that open, used it so we could put our stereo outside, it is under a porch roof, but have never had a problem with blowing rain etc.

You would have to make sure that it will be dry! Will it be used in the winter? If not un plug it and fins a way to keep the door open or it will grow mold and it will also stink! Only has to be open a inch or two! Most important, don't let it get wet or freeze! Good luck!

as a military family who moved frequently we always put a sock full of coffee grounds in our refrigerator or freezer when we moved them. that absorbed any excess moisture and kept it from getting smelly. We stored a freezer for three years when we went to Europe with a sock full of coffee in it and it had no bad smells when we got back home. Before you let it sit over winter, wash it out with baking soda to be sure its clean, dry it out well by the leaving the door open on a warm day, then lay sock of coffee on one of the shelves, and close it up for the season. I would be afraid what critters might decide to make it their home during the off season if you leave the door open.

I kept mine on the back deck for2 years.. summer and winter... then we stopped using it... it really just needs to stay dry.. a small shelter over it would work...

We live in Colorado and we have a big one on our deck, we do not cover it but in the winter we have to change the temp inside because it all freezes, but we have had not problems other than that.
