Janet F on May 29, 2015I put up some crepe paper streamers that seemed to deter them as they fluttered in the breeze. I would let them nest but they are really messy when they're on your front porch.Helpful Reply

Barbara on May 29, 2015I have some "fake" snakes, that keeps them away. You can make them out of colorful socks and that helps. Or you can buy some toy ones that work better.Helpful Reply

Kathy on May 30, 2015We had this same issue with our home, ugh! Try putting a shiny soda can near where they are nesting, i.e., behind a light fixture mounted to the house, etc. Make SURE the can is NOT red, as birds are attracted to this color; instead try a Sprite or 7-Up can, maps the shininess will deter them....I agree with the response to let them nest, but when they attack you each and every time you enter or leave the house, it gets irritating very quickly, lol....let me know how it goes, 😃Helpful Reply

Susen Gail on Jun 05, 2015They nested in our ceiling fans and pooped on the table and daybed. They had to go! (Somewhere else!) We placed a piece of rope close by and a footlong piece of old garden hose. That did the trick! If they started a nest, I washed it down that day. After years of nesting when the house was empty, it took several years of active dissuasion to get them to go elsewhere, but we were finally successful. Yes, birdwatching is fun and I love to hear and see the little ones poke their heads over the sides of the nest and demand feeding, but we do that activity elsewhere. Good luck. susenHelpful Reply
