Carmie on May 31, 2015That happens if you have cider trees close to the tree. I think about fifty foot away.Helpful Reply

Scot_belle on May 31, 2015My best guess is... that there was moisture (dew) on the leaves and the sun came out. This happens when the moisture acts like a magnifying glass, heating the moisture, and burning the spots into the leaves. There are diseases that could be the issue, but at the moment the only one that I can think of is rust, but normally that is confined to branches. In the last couple of years rust has blown across my rural county and we are all doing the winter (February) spraying... trying to get rid of it.Helpful Reply

Judy Capone Mantell on May 31, 2015It might be a rather common problem called "cherry leaf spot". Google this and you will find lots of info and treatment options. Apparently it is a fungal infection common on cherry trees. It can be devastating for the tree so I would treat it asap.Helpful Reply

Barb Hynes on May 31, 2015there is another condition where the leaves roll up and wilt. It has been a few years now but I think it was called cherry leaf wilt or drop. I would suggest reading up on cherry trees. There is a host of problems that can occur. We had cherry trees at my childhood home and had an abundence of cherries...but I don't remember having any proplems with them.Helpful Reply

Carole on May 31, 2015Cut a piece off with the affected leaves and take it to your local plant nursery for advice. While you are there they can show you what product you might need to use to fix the problem. It could be any number or things. I had thought my Photinia shrubs had leaf curl but turned out it was leaf blight and needed a different product than I had thought it would to fix the problem. I am now spraying my Photinias every 10 days to 14 days on dry days to fix the leaf blight problem. In my case the spots and curling up was due to excessive wet weather affecting the new growth and causing a fungal infection. Good luck.Helpful Reply
