A couple of misfit antique furniture pieces, homemade white chalkpaint and a profusion of flowers make a pretty, whimsical porch greeting
The antique phonograph cabinet was a Craigslist freebie to promise to give it a good home and not turn around and sell it, It had an unattractive yellowing finish which I took care of with a batch of homemade white chalk paint
This 200 year old cottage kitchen chair was one of a pair that I bought 15 years ago at an antique auction that I attended for 3 minutes. I went to deliver some papers to a family friend and as I walked through the door the chairs were held up for sale. I bid to $20, handed our friend the package I brought for him, and because I hadn't brought anything with me (like a handbag), I had to borrow the 20 bucks from our friend to pay for them. This one broke in my last move, and I am so happy to have found a new role for it that keeps it In my life.

    Don't worry about the negative things people say. I wish people would just not say anything if they can't say nothing nice. When people post their creations they are proud of them, and it hurts when people say negative things. I think it's beautiful.
