Any ideas on a simple entertainment center using stock cabinets?

Julie A. Spears on Jun 01, 2015That would be a great idea. Just make sure to build a frame made of 2x4's to set them on, otherwise you won't be able to open the doors. You'll probably want at least 2 sets of cabinets also, depending on the size of your TV. Don't forget to screw them together so they don't shift on you. Then just put a top on, paint or stain to your preference, and voila! You're done. If you are going to paint the cabinets, I recommend Benjamin Moore Advance. I recently used this in my kitchen and it's the best paint I've ever used.Helpful Reply

Adrianne Manson on Jun 02, 2015There are 15 or 18 inch wide unfinished pantry cabinets with one or two drawers you can get at Home depot. You can use a 30inch high wall cabinet in the middle for the bottom and a over the fridge cabinet to bridge the top. Screw together through the face frame and cut two strips of 3/8 inch plywood: one of them 30 inches high by the width for the base and the other the height of the center cabinet by the width of the set for the top. Screw the plywood through to the inside back of cabs from the outside tobrace and stabilize the back. FInish as you like and enjoy!Helpful Reply
