Any ideas on making water features for patio?

Julie A. Spears on Jun 01, 2015I once made a fountain with an old metal watering can, a length of plastic aquarium tubing and a metal outdoor spigot. The tubing should fit over a small pump that goes into the can. Drill small holes around the top of the tubing, and it should fit into the spigot. When it's working properly it should look like water is coming out of the spigot by magic because it's an illusion of the water traveling up the tubing. Very cool and relatively inexpensive to make.Helpful Reply

Pamela Pianfetti on Jun 02, 2015I did the same thing. Took a single fence board (picket style, about 5 inches wide) and attached an old spigot to it by drilling a hole and using a bolt on the back to hold it on. Then I made a mosaic pattern on the board with old broken tiles. I attached the board to a redwood tub that was lined to be used as a fountain. The tubing fit perfectly into the back of the spigot. Wish I'd taken a picture!Helpful Reply
