Recycled Rubber Door Mat Makeover

I've had this plain black mat for years and it's always just been ho-hum.But if you've had a mat like this you'll know that they are super sturdy and pretty much last forever. Today the idea came to me to paint it. I had no idea if it would work, but I grabbed my box of acrylic paints and went to town anyway. Guess what? It totally worked!
Isn't it cute? To make your own custom door mat, all you need is acrylic paint in the colors of your choice, a paint brush and a clear coat spray paint.
Make sure your rug is clean and dry. Paint on your design and let that dry. Then spray it with a clear coat and you are done!
I waited one week before using the mat to give the paint plenty of time to harden. If you'd like to see how it looks on my front porch, you can visit my blog. Also, I'm looking for suggestions on what color I should paint my front door and storm door surround. A comment on my blog with your opinion would be very, very appreciated!
