Is the a safe way to attach decoration to vinyl siding?

I would like to attach hanging pot hooks or things of that nature to hang DYI solar lights around our deck without damaging the vinyl siding on our house. Is there a way to do this?

I use command strips/hooks to attach décor to my vinyl siding. So far 3 yrs later still holding!

I've hung fish line from the fascia or whatever I could to hang things. That was before command strips which sound like a great idea.

Agree, command hooks are the way to go. The weight limit should be indicated on the package.

I use vinyl siding hooks that snap under the siding. They are very sturdy, one of mine holds a small cast iron plant hole with a potted plant. Together with dirt and all it weighs around 4 to 5 pounds. I bought mine at Ace Hardware. They come 2 in a pack.
