Optimizing Space Above Kitchen Cupboard
by

(IC: homeowner)
There was plenty of open storage above the kitchen cupboards, but it looked terribly unsightly. So after a few weeks of staring at this ugliness, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
My rented apartment has a fussy landlord. No nailing or glueing is permitted. I hit upon the idea of using cardboard, it would be flexible enough to be jammed into the space. I wrapped it in duct tape, but that did not prevent it from buckling if pressed a little hard. I found these so-called coffee muddlers in Daiso ($2 for a box of 150). I hot glued it to the cardboard, covered it with a hand drawn pattern and wrapped it transparent adhedive book wrap.
Granted wood or plywood sheets would have looked tidier, but without nails or glue I would be risking a concussion!
