Stacy on Jun 05, 2015My husband just surprised me coming home from a trip with a new deck. We found at lowes these blk rod iron thingies that are curved and simply screw in top and bottom, put a simple wood swing gate with latch at end to keep pets on it. Would be safe for small kids too.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Jun 06, 2015Not sure I understand how it has only one post for support? I like the idea of a traditional wooden railing.Helpful Reply

Jordan Le Bouton on Jun 12, 2015Use plastic lattice (so no painting every year). Then you can make a matching gate. I have seen and am going to do myself a a lattice with a design cut out of it. Very pretty and functional. I have a puppy so need the gate also. One post means you wood have to attach a straight board at the corner to attach the other end a continue around back to the house. I have a 1910 house and am trying to cost wise keep with the heritage.Helpful Reply
