I fell in love with a brightly colored abstract lamp shade from a very well known store but sadly, after seeing the price tag, I knew it was out of my price range. However, this was something I could easily make on my own. I was inspired by the colors in my child's bedroom to make this fun Lamp Shade!
I found a very inexpensive lamp shade at my local thrift store for such a deal. Then, just grab a brush and a few of your favorite paints.
This could not be an easier project to create and it only takes thirty minutes or less to complete! I am now getting the urge to paint every lamp in my home!

Anne Marie on Sep 26, 2015Love your lampshade. Did you need to use a particular type of paint, like heat resistant paint, or water based paint?

Have a question about this project?
My question about the paint has been answered, but what is the lampshade made of? Mine are a kind of plastic feeling stuff. Not fabric. Will it matter? I love this! Thank you for sharing! 🌈🌻💜😊🕊️
