How to Transform Old Chairs and Recover Seats
by

These old chairs were desperate for a makeover. They were still sturdy and even though they were quite old, I saw a lot of potential in them and wanted to transform them.
This was the before picture of the chairs, a little old, dirty and definitely in need of a makeover!
I first cleaned the chairs with warm soap water.
I sanded the old varnish down. I then used woodfiller to cover any scratches and damage.
I sanded over the woodfiller once it had hardened.
I primed the chair and then painted it using acrylic paint.
I removed the old seats and the pad.
I cut out a shape out of a new seat pad and covered it with some batting using hot glue gun.
I measured and cut out the fabric .
I then stapled it onto the seat.
I then glued the seat on the chair.
Repeat the step on all the chairs and here is the result.
Fun fabric, I chose this fabulous fabric as these chairs were used int he conservatory.
