Toilet has whining noise

When flushing toilet loud whining noise. I checked & can't see anything obvious.

    Mine did that too, and at times sounds like an airplane taking off...It was a disposable razor head that had fallen in...It eventually flushed through. If it works well, and doesn't clog, I wouldn't worry about it. Honestly, I would replace it with a new white, water saver one, that has a much smaller tank. They are so much cheaper now. I wouldn't invest any money on an old toilet.

    On occasions the filler valve will have mineral deposits built up within the valve that will cause what I call a toilet whistle. A new filler valve is less than $10 and I simply replace the filler valve when I run into this. Oh and stay away from the old ballcock styled filler valves. They're more prone to make noise anyway.

    It may be that during the flush cycle the flap may not be seating as it should. Cleaning the flap and the toilett seal may correct the issue.
