New Life for Old Drawers

Had a wall that I hated so I used some old drawers I bought at yard sales and hung them and put photos and decorative items in them and transformed that ugly wall.
Hung the drawwers upside down and then filled them with photos and found decorative items. I made the branch mosaic (large art piece on the left) out of pieces of branches and framed it with wood from a dumpster we found when an old store was remodeled. The wood is over a hundred years old.
Found these old drawers and a crate at a yard sale.
Also made the chalkboard door that is actually the side of the refrigerator cabinet. Dug it out of a dumpster over then years ago and it sat in our barn until this year. Took the glass out and replaced it with a piece of plywood painted with chalkboard paint. My hubby routed the piece of molding under the chalkboard so there is a place for chalk and then we fashioned a light above the chalkboard to it spotlights it and my husband wired it so if you touch the metal doorknob plate the light turns on and off. The switches in the door work the kitchen lights. The red wall is painted using paper bags ~ you tear them so there is no straight edges, then dip them in water, wring them out and then paint them on the wall like wallpaper. It gives the wall a look of leather and hides just about any kind of flaw!
