Painted Basket Adds Storage to an Entryway

Hide small messes in plain sight with a large painted basket.
These wine-making supplies had been sitting in our front entryway for far too long.
This large woven hamper fit them perfectly, but I didn't want it to look like a hamper sitting my foyer. The solution… a decorative paint treatment.
Tape off the area you want to paint with Frog Tape. Brush on three coats of paint. Here I used a custom mix of General Finishes White and Antique White Milk Paint.
The jug was still a little tall and the cover wouldn't sit flat so I removed the handle and using a chisel and hammer, cut out a round hole in the cover.
The basket now looks like it has a glass handle.
The basket now neatly hides the large containers...
… and now very nicely blends in with the entryway decor.
