I wiped my hot glass top stove with a dish rag that had vinyl on it

Gabe on Jun 23, 2015Simple fix, get yourself one of those razor blades that are inserted into a scraper/sticker type removal, use plenty of glass cleaner for lubricity, and ensure the stovetop is cold, once you saturate the area proceed to scrape of the residue, and no you will not scratch the stove top, "it is glass afterall" : ) I have the same stove top, and I also use the same technique to remove dirt grime and build up from the vehicles that I detail... Good luck!Helpful Reply

Kathie8ch on Jun 23, 2015Gabe stole my thunder ;) That is exactly what I was going to say. I've used a razor scraper on my glass cooktop for years. :)Helpful Reply

Pat on Jun 23, 2015Was going to say the same as Gabe & kathie8ch, blades are your friend with these tops. Just be careful to not get liquid in around the edges, where the seal is, it can damage that area. I prefer to use a non-scratch cleaner w/small amount of water to lightly scrub & then the scraper to further clean it all up. Need a light rinse & wipe, will stay good as new for a long time, but make sure don't use too much force when scraping. Also vinegar & water work really well, cuts through any grease residue. Had a glass top for over 15 years that still looks nearly new! Enjoy having a sparkling clean cooktop!Helpful Reply
