DIY Faux Patina Flower Pots

As I was planting more basil and peppermint, I looked at my old clay pots, and I knew they needed more color! I love the shades of turquoise patina has, so I decided to paint a faux patina.
I went out and bought 4 acrylic paints.
Then I painted the entire outside of the pot with the Chocolate brown.
Finally, I used a cloth towel to dry rub the turquoise over the spring green/bimini blue combination.
What I love about this DIY, if there is too much of one color, take a damp cloth, and swipe over the area lightly, not to go too far to the chocolate brown,
Enjoyed the project?

Jeannie on Jul 01, 2015Christine et al, I love the finished look. Good job! This is the look I want on a wooden bar. Do you know if you could use the same technique and/or paints to get the same outcome? I want to use chalk paint (to avoid the prep work) but wasn't sure of the colors to use or the order to paint them. Anyone?
