So I'm mindlessly walking in the park with the pooch when I see this wedge of tree drowning in a puddle. A one in a million trillion bazillion chances. Huh. I bet that would make a stunning shelf, I thought. Nah, I shouldn't touch it.
The next day, it's still there. No, I should just leave it. Right? As I stare at it longingly as we walk by. Come read all the details about this ridiculously cool shelf along with all sorts of other fun stuff on my blog, Flipping the Flip at humboldtartdept.blogspot.com.
Day 3 and it's mine. I couldn't take it anymore. I had to have it. I picked up some keyhole brackets to hang this wood wedge.
A sanding on top, several coats of semi-gloss polyurethane later and it was time to hang. Using that spiffy tape trick you see everywhere, I marked the spots to drill on the wall with ease.
Wow. What a shelf! Even the dog is amazed!
I dunno, I think it came out quite amazing. Come see more detailed photos of this shelf on my blog by clicking the link below! You will be glad you did!
