Daugthers Bohemian Bedroom Redo

My 16 year old daughters bedroom remodel. Long over do. In my typical fashion I aimed for low cost, upcycle and thrift store opportunities. So we gutted the room and started from scratch. If you knew my daughter you would understand why we went Bohemian. She has red Ariel (Little Mermaid) hair, doesn't like shoes, loves music and loves the unexpected. She has been to Africa twice and brags about backpack travels, rolling in red clay and sleeping with mosquito nets.
It has been 8+ years. My daughters room need a remodel. She had out grown the pink and cutsy decor.
We changed the bed out of neccessity, but nothing else had really changed since it had been painted.
Gutted room and painted walls.
Bare walls...Open canvas.
Time to get to work!
Everything in the room was upcycled or a thrift store with the exception of the bed cover and pillow which set the theme and color scheme. Those were purchased from Urban Outfitters. The bed is made from sand and stained pallets.
The crates are DIY pallet crates. The swing was made from an old ballet bar and remnant fabric that was then hand painted. The wooden shelf is an upcycled drawer. The wall covering are pages from a bible. inspired by her passion for mission work. Plus what do you do with a ripped bible...upcycle. Old sign letters and ESTY fabric.
All pictures were xerox printed with personal meaningful quotes and all hung by various methods with thrift store finds.
Ladder made from salvaged wood.
Lamp frame was one of my best thrift store finds ($1.00). I also found the crystals at a later date. A full cookie bin for also a dollar. Added antique bulb and voila!
Sorry for quality of image. Old cameras are thrift store finds on old early 1900 door hardware.
Curtains are made from several scurf's (Clearance Micheal's). Night stand (metal milk crate) from road side find. Closet door removed and replaced with bamboo curtain, an upcycled from another project and macrame above closet was handmade by my daughters friend from remnant fabrics and a stick from the yard.

Anna Ibarra on Jun 27, 2015This room is set for a teen, with her stuff nearby, as they like it. I love that hanging lamp.
