Cheap and Easy Trick for Cleaning a Smooth Stovetop
Here's a simple way to clean a smooth stovetop using baking soda and a wet soapy towel. I've done this several times and it really does work! It takes just a little bit of patience, but the results are well worth it and it's a great money saver too.
Begin by sprinkling baking soda on your stovetop.
Next, take a clean dish towel and get it wet in warm soapy water. You want the towel to be completely wet, but wring it out enough so that it is not dripping a lot of water anymore either.
Then lay your wet towel over the baking soda you sprinkled on the stove and let it set like this for 15 minutes.
At the end of the 15 minutes, use the soapy wet towel to start scrubbing the baking soda around and wipe everything clean. It can be helpful to finish up with a final wiping and rinsing with fresh water too.
And then you're done! Your stovetop will be shiny and clean again and you've done it for just pennies. I've got more money saving and natural cleaning ideas over on my blog too!

I've updated this post to include more of the instructions. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the stovetop, lay a wet soapy towel over it, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then wipe clean.

So do you put the baking soda on the stove top and then place the warm wet towel on top of it? And for how long?
On your homemade wiped with vinegar, water, and soap; don't you need to cover the gallon pitcher so they don't dry out?
Do we just use plain baking soda and sprinkle in on the top dry?
Any other liquid to add before the dry towel.?
