I decided to try a little twist on Jute Vases, and tried painting the jute instead of leaving it the natural color. YOU be the judge, painted or not....does give it a whole different look.
Liking it, and a person could use different paint types to for variety.
This is not the exact glass vase I started with, but close enough to show you the start of things.
So I wrapped and glued (Elmers) the Jute around the glass vase. First time doing this and turned out pretty good.
Decided to try some Americana Decor Chalk Paint. I have 3 colors currently, and it went on a little messy, but after trimming off with scissors the fly away threads, it looked pretty good. Different type paint might give it a whole different look too.
I didn't want the bottom glass, so used a Cream color Chalk paint, and just dabbed it all around the bottom. Took 2 good coats to get the effect I wanted, to match the look of the string.
Here it is on my redone dresser I did previously (see post on my page). Looks pretty nice...but needs something.........
Oh yes...some cute flowers! What do you think? Paint or not paint on the string?

Just curious. If you didn't want the bottom to show glass, why didn't you just bring the Jute all the way down? Your technique is lovely. I was just wondering :)
