DIY Jewelry Storage

I needed hidden jewelry storage. Something I would know was there but no one else (my daughter in particular)would know about. I couldn’t find anything I liked so I decided to DIY my own jewelry storage.
I decided to mount a canvas to the wall using a piano hinge. It was super easy and super quick.
Supplies: canvas in your desired size
This is what the back of your canvas should look like. The wood frame is the perfect depth to accommodate cup hooks and necklaces.
Once the canvas is attached to the wall, it should open and close easily. Next, you would add the cup hooks.
As long as you don’t mind a bunch of tiny holes in your wall, you could screw them directly into the wall. Your other option is to screw the cup hooks into thin strips of wood like lattice or shims. Then you would attach the strips of wood with a screw on each end.

A possible variation: Piano hinges are notoriously tricky to attach, or so I’ve heard. A couple of small door or cabinet hinges would work. If inset in the frame, they wouldn’t show. Also, instead of putting hooks it the wall, one could put them across the bottom of the top of the frame and middle brace so the jewelry hangs inside the frame.
