Tonia on Jul 02, 2015Turning off the main isn't going to hurt anything. You will have to leave the heat on in the winter so you don't break any pipes. You could just shut that toilets valve off instead of the main.Helpful Reply

Margaret on Jul 03, 2015The best solution is turn off the water at the main. I would also turn off the water heater. There is no reason to keep paying for hot water when no one is there. Heat and air can be turned as low as it will go on the thermostat.Helpful Reply

Diane Blank on Jul 03, 2015Turning the water off is no problem but YOU MUST TURN OFF THE HOT WATER HEATER(when water is off the hot water will continue to try and heat the empty tank causing the elements to burn out) also in the winter pipes, toilets etc. have to be drained and RV antifreeze added to specific areas so any water that is not drained will not freeze and burst the pipes.Helpful Reply
