Peach colored brick fireplace. What wall colors work?
-
Anne Alexander on Jul 03, 2015Since there is seems to be just little burst of color with French Country my thoughts are that the Peach should played down... using a very, very light lavender grey wall color and white trim when ever possible...would love a pic when finished...Helpful Reply

Debi53 on Jul 03, 2015Is there any reason you can't change the color of the brick? We had orange brick on our fp, but changed it with masonry stain to a dark color and then painted it a lighter color.Helpful Reply

Lisa Burke Bates on Jul 03, 2015If you google "whitewash brick", it will open up a world of options for you and it looks beautiful! It isn't as dramatic as paint, and will be beautiful with any decor.Helpful Reply

Kathy on Jul 04, 2015I would also agree with Lisa and Debi53. I would either paint it all white or do a whitewash, that way you are free to choose a wall color that goes with your French country decor instead of trying to find a wall color that goes with a peach brick fireplace which could be difficult. Good luck! Kathy in Lake Forest, CAHelpful Reply

Cynthia Nye on Jul 04, 2015Walls could be soft green, or light gray, ivory, very pale yellow-white. I think doing the walls easier than the brick.Helpful Reply

KathyBH on Jul 06, 2015"Peach" fireplace? That is such an outdated color from, I think the early 90's. My "now husband" had a house with peach carpet and drapes with blue accents. Good lord, I hated it! Why worry about the walls I would first paint the fireplace white and go from there.Helpful Reply

Rhonda Davis on Jul 06, 2015My suggestion would be to use a high gloss gray for the walls that has a bluish tint to it. Then I would use a chalky gray to trim out the fireplace surrounding it with a 1 1/2 - 3 inch molding trim. It will set off the fireplace and draw your eye to the walls therefore muting the peach but using the warmth of it to accent the gray. The high gloss brightens the walls and helps soften the peach. Best of luck with whatever you choose to do!Helpful Reply
