EdiLeck on Jul 04, 2015According to this site, ( http://janome.com/siteassets/support/faqs/orange-ma-and-rockford-il-dates-of-manufacture.pdf ) it was manufactured between 1946 and 1953! This site also has some interesting info: http://ismacs.net/newhome/home.html. They even have a link to the instruction manual for this exact machine!Helpful Reply

Swan Road Designs on Jul 04, 2015Judging by the shape and color of the head of the machine, I would place it's manufacture time somewhere in the '40s into the '50s. To give you some clue as to its possible age, here is a link to patent numbers/dates and attendant documentation: http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/ido/oeip/taf/issudate.pdf. You could also save this information to give you some guidance for other items you might be curious about. As for the New Home factor, check out this link: http://ismacs.net/newhome/manufacture_dates.html. This might give you just what you are searching for. For many years I collected sewing machines, sewing accessories and sewing memorabilia. You might say I know some machines rather intimately. I quit collecting when I ran out of space (big surprise, I know) and got older.Helpful Reply

Debbie Sams-Thacker on Jul 05, 2015I believe it is late 40's to early 50's. Earlier models had long bobbins instead of round ones. I think. I have one from 1960 that is nothing like yours. Oil it up and have a blast, these old machines are like driving vintage cars....Helpful Reply
