I have a space 40 x 20 behind the sink and would like to put metal instead of glass/ceramic tile. Is it feasible and what adhesive to use?

Hi maryann, you can use PL 200 or probably PL Premium or something of the sort. I did that behind a stove a long time ago. If I were doing it today, I would most likely try heavy metal mirror clips...something like these: http://www.lowes.com/pd_197437-405-50445_0__?productId=1056919 They wouldn't damage the drywall if I changed my mind down the line.

What kind of look are you going for? I helped a friend put up old tin as a back splash and it looks great for her country French look.

@Darlene Hardesty My dream kitchen was to have a french country kitchen. But I don't so I'll do my best to transform it as much as possible.

If you need metal I would check out ceiling tiles at any of the home improvement store. If you have metal I would consider using liquid nails or any other construction adhesive.

I just did this behind a stove. We used pressed metal ceiling panels that look like old metal ceilings popular years ago (though they had some more modern ones too). We found them on line and our contractor put the up with very tiny brads. It looks great.
