Brighter Kitchen!

We bought a 1980s house complete with dark cabinets, orange counters & orange shag carpet in the living room! Ugh!
Then I knew the dark cabinets just had to go! I lightly sanded, applied bonding-primer then glossy pure white porch paint for durability!

The orange counters were in good shape but SO ugly! We didn't really have the money to replace them right now, so I sanded those, too! And used the same bonding primer.

After priming, I painted 3 coats of gray semi gloss, and added sprinkles (like you use on garage floors). I just put them in my hand & gently blew them onto wet paint!
Next I applied 2 part liquid epoxy. It gave it a clear glassy look that I love!
Lightly sanded counters
Counters with primer
The new glassy finish!

What a fabulous result!!! I envy you. I pinned you though to show my sweet hubby that it can be done. Thanks.

Thanks, Susan- it sure can be done- & lots cheaper than new cabinets & counters!
