Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jun 27, 2014Never ever use any tapes or sealants on flue pipes. The natural draft should be pulling air into the openings. If that is not the case, you need a professional that understands drafts and corrects the issues. For ducts however, mastic sealants are used. They do make a foil tape that is allowed but is very expensive. Duct tape is not to be used, its not for ducts. The adhesive used dries up and the tape will eventually fall off and fail.
