MAJOR Kitchen Renovation (Before & After)

I'm sharing our FULL Kitchen Renovation over on the blog today! All 11 years worth!! We went through several before we got to where we are today. So much to tackle upon moving in, doing every bit of it ourselves was a major undertaking....but do-able! Stop by the blog to see all the photos. It's hard to believe it's the same kitchen...even for me!

BEFORE PHOTO (all photos are right after moving in): Decided to take walls out on both sides to open up the entire space. Now an open, bright and cheery space.

We built the raised bar (where the microwave is) and added the laminate.

What a difference!!

This wall is gone.

Before...dark, closed off ..and dreary.

We also built an island in this space from scratch using big box store ready made cabinets. That wall to the right is gone now. (so is that plaid wallpaper!!)

Other changes made:

Modifying cabinets, painting, removing trash compactor to replace with wine refrigerator. (we added decorative wood trim to the fronts of the cabinet doors, painted, replaced laminate etc.) We did it in stages. Walls didn't come out until later.

Looks pretty much like you started from scratch! So dark "before". After is such a light filled area now! Great job!

  @Donna C Thank you! Almost! ;) And yes, while I was writing that post, it was even hard for me to believe where we started! The whole house was so very dark.
