Curbside Table Turned Farmhouse Table

I love finding furniture on the side of the road and making it over. I could not believe I found this dining table and chairs on the side of the road with "free" signs all over it. I couldn't get it into my van fast enough. I had big plans for it.
There were some "issues" with the table, but nothing that scared me away. It was still functional and sturdy.
A few cracks and some wear and tear only means tons of character to me. :-)
I added a chair I had in the garage to the set so there were four chairs. I painted them all white and recovered them with some fabric I had left over from a previous project.
The table legs got a few coats of white paint and then I distressed them with sandpaper. The top of the table was sanded down to the bare wood and I stained it gray with Weatherwood Stains. You can see a lot more pictures and the full tutorial on my blog post here: http://www.mycreativedays.com/curbside-table-turned-farm-table/.

Did the table top come out in so many different colors naturally like that? You only mentioned using gray on it - it’s Simply beautiful with the variations of colors!!
