DIY Lamp Makeover

$45
2 Hours
Easy
I found these absolutely HIDEOUS lamps for $10 at a yardsale. I liked the shape and knew I could transform them with some simple spray paint. I think I nailed it!
They didn't have any shades but I bought 2 simple white shades from Target. This project was about $45 including buying the lamps and the shades.
I already had all of the spray paint on hand. I used Black, White and Gold paint to make these lamps much more modern.
I taped and newspapered everything off and sprayed each section individually after sanding and priming the entire lamp.

They match my style of decor now and I just love the way they look in my living room. Come check them out all finished over at Houseologie! It's kind of amazing what a few coats of spray paint can accomplish. tuesday

Too funny! I found the same lamps at a local Goodwill. I paid $7.50 each so you got a great deal. Haven't decided what to do with them yet, but will probably paint. Thanks for the pictures. And I like Susan's idea, too, of wrapping. I've thought of mod podging something on them.
